Deleting Data and Your Account

Memol lets you delete data at the note, folder, workspace, or whole-account level. Here's how to request deletion and what's removed vs retained.

Memol is designed so every user has full control over their own data. You don't have to delete your entire account to delete just some data.

What you can delete

How to delete your account (mobile app + web)

  1. Sign in to the app or web
  2. Settings (gear icon, bottom-left) → Settings
  3. Open the Profile tab
  4. At the bottom of the page, "Delete account" (red button)
  5. Confirm by typing your email address
  6. Click "Delete forever"

This permanently removes the data listed below, immediately or within 30 days.

What's deleted

When you delete your account, all of the following are removed:

  • ✅ Every note you created (body, attached images, version history)
  • ✅ Folders, tags, tasks, comments
  • ✅ Profile data (name, email, avatar)
  • ✅ Login history and session tokens
  • ✅ Push notification device tokens
  • ✅ AI search logs

What's retained (limited, legally required)

Only the following are retained, for limited operational or legal reasons:

  • Audit logs (security incident response, up to 1 year)
  • Billing records (tax obligations, up to 7 years, anonymized)

Email-based deletion request

If you can't access the app for any reason, email us from the email address of the account you'd like deleted:

We verify identity and complete deletion within 30 days.

FAQ

Q. Can I recover a deleted note?

Items in Trash can be restored within 30 days. Anything you "Delete forever" cannot be recovered.

Q. If I delete a workspace, are the invited members' accounts also deleted?

No. Only data associated with that workspace is deleted. Members' personal accounts remain.

Q. Can I cancel an account deletion?

Within 24 hours of the deletion request, you can cancel by emailing support@memol.app. After that, recovery is not possible.
