LINKAKU Inc. ("Company") considers it important to properly handle personal information of users when providing the knowledge sharing service "Memol" ("Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following information:
- Account information: Name, email address, password (stored in hashed form)
- Profile information: Avatar, display name
- Usage data: Notes, tasks, folders, and other content data created by the User
- Technical information: IP address, browser type, access timestamps, operation logs
- Payment information: For paid plans, information required for payment processing (payment is processed by Stripe; we do not store credit card information directly)
3. Purpose of Use
Collected information is used for the following purposes:
- Providing, operating, and improving the Service
- User support
- Billing
- Sending important service notifications
- Fraud prevention
- Usage analysis and statistics (in anonymized form)
4. Third-Party Disclosure
We do not share personal information with third parties except in the following cases:
- With user consent
- As required by law
- To service providers under appropriate management for Service operations
5. AI Features and Data Processing
The Service provides an AI-powered search feature ("Ask AI") that uses third-party AI services to generate answers from your notes. When you use this feature:
- Data sent to AI: The content of notes within the scope you select (all notes or specific notes) is sent to the AI service provider (Anthropic) to generate answers.
- No training use: Your data is NOT used to train AI models. Anthropic's API terms explicitly prohibit using customer data for model training.
- Temporary retention: Data sent to the AI service may be temporarily retained by the provider for up to 30 days for trust and safety purposes, after which it is automatically deleted.
- Access control: Folder-level access permissions are respected. Notes in restricted folders are not included in AI search results for users without permission.
6. External Services
The Service uses the following external services:
- Anthropic: AI-powered search and document generation (API usage; data is not used for model training)
- Supabase: Authentication, database, file storage
- Stripe: Payment processing
- Vercel: Hosting

7. Data Storage and Protection
Data is transmitted via SSL/TLS encryption and stored on secure servers. We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to prevent leakage, loss, or alteration of personal information.
8. Data Retention
Data is retained while the account is active. Upon account deletion, all related data is completely deleted within 30 days. Data required to be retained by law will be kept for the necessary period.
9. User Rights
Users have the following rights:
- Access and review personal information
- Correct and update personal information
- Delete account (available from settings)
- Export data (for paid plans)
10. Cookies
We use cookies for maintaining authentication status and improving the user experience. Cookies can be disabled in browser settings, but some features may become unavailable.
11. Policy Changes
We may update this policy as needed. Significant changes will be notified via the Service or email.
