We've added two editor features to Memol: note links (with backlinks) and slash commands. Both make Memol's core promise stronger — that what you write down will be there when you need it.

1. Note links and backlinks

Type [[ in a note to search your workspace and insert a link to another note. From a meeting note to the related spec, from a customer record to a past interaction — connect notes in the natural flow of your thinking.

The highlight here is backlinks. When you link to a note, that note now automatically shows its "Linked references" at the bottom.

For example, if you link to a "Project A Overview" note from several meeting notes using [[Project A Overview]], then opening the overview shows you, right there, the list of meeting notes that reference it.

Why backlinks matter

  • Connections go both ways — see at a glance where a note is referenced from, so you never lose related context
  • Knowledge compounds — the more you write, the more your notes form a web you can trace later
  • No filing required — links carry the context, so you don't have to organize everything into tidy folders

This sits squarely within Memol's philosophy: write it down, then let AI and the system handle the rest — you're free to forget. Links also become explicit "relatedness" data, which helps improve AI search quality.

2. Slash commands

Type / in the body to quickly insert formatting from a menu:

  • Heading 1 / 2 / 3
  • Bulleted list / Numbered list
  • To-do list (checkboxes)
  • Quote / Code block
  • Table / Divider

Build structure without taking your hands off the keyboard, so you can write at the speed you think. Filtering works in both English and Japanese.

Available now

Both features need no setup and are free on every plan. Open a note and try typing [[ and /.

Little by little, your everyday notes turn into connected knowledge.
